Three of Strong Spirits began as a conversation between two good friends

Sipping some rum and ruminating about the things that matter most to us. Our community, camaraderie, and the joyful, unexpected adventure of making a life in Maine. Wouldn’t it be great if we could create and distill world-class rums that reflect those priorities right here in Portland, Maine? Unlike many lesser ideas that we've hatched over a glass, this one still made sense the next day. We've been working hard ever since to build Three of Strong and celebrate the spirit of spirits.

Our Process

Our goal is to do things the right way, from start to finish. This starts with how we treat people. Our employees, visitors, and East Bayside neighbors are all a part of the Three of Strong community.

We use 100% organic evaporated cane syrup and molasses, yeast, and pure water from Maine’s beautiful Sebago Lake to craft our rums. We're proud to source our aged rum from a family distillery in Barranquilla, Colombia that makes rum the way we do, without any artificial flavorings or colors.
