If you asked little Rachel what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would have looked up from her mud pies and said a witch. After college in Pennsylvania, where she had her first shift behind a bar at an underground ‘club’ set-up by some friends and eventually shut down by campus housing, she moved down to Key West and began her career in the service industry. She spent the next 6 years falling in love with the show and socializing of being behind the bar. It was not until her return to Maine, working behind such bars as Central Provisions and Baharat, that she got deeper into the combination of creativity, culinary skill, history and fun intrinsic to making craft cocktails, aka potions. She loves using local ingredients in new ways, re-mixing classic cocktails (pun intended), learning new techniques and recipes, sharing her love of spirits, cocktails and their history, and casting spells with friends old and new.
